(x/-4)+11=5; we need to get x by itself in order to solve. Let's subtract 11 from both sides. (x/-4)=-6; let's now multiply both sides by -4. x=24; let's check to see if x is 24 by plugging it in.

24/-4=-6+11=5

So, x=24.
