The United States of America launched two broad offensives to reverse the favor from the Japanese during World War II. The  first broad offense was to move from Australia all the way North to New Guinea and come back passing through the Philippines. The second offense was lead by Chester Nimitz who ordered to attack Japan from Hawaii going to the west. These offenses were used to practically invade Japan.
