Do you mean anti-federalists? If so, anti-federalists opposed the development of a strong federal government and the ratification of the Constitution in 1788. The federalists were the people who supported the proposed Constitution. They chose this name because it showed implied a commitment to a loose, decentralized system of government. Hope this helps!
