It's not exactly clear why Aunt Alexandra suddenly decides to come and live with Atticus and his family in Maycomb. She leaves her husband behind at Finch's Landing, and tells Scout that she plans "to stay with you for a while." ... Alexandra is Atticus's older sister, and she is used to getting her way.
