Explanation:

When multiplying a fraction, you simply multiply the numerators and the denominators, respectively.

Example:

1/2 * 1/4

You take the numerators, 1 and 1, and multiply them: 1 * 1 = 1

Take the denominators, 2 and 4, and multiply them: 2 * 4 = 8

Now, combine both the newly multiplied numerator and denominator, and you have your fraction: 1/8
