How do you decide which two numbers is greater when both numbers are negative?

-1 > -2

123 three is bigger because it has more value

-3 -2 -1 negative one is bigger because it has less subtraction

Basically what the guy above me is trying to say is, if the number is smaller in the negatives its bigger. -1 is greater than -2 becasue its more right on a visual number line
