Why are plains landscapes more likely to form meandering rivers than mountain landscapes

Explanation:

First, what are meandering rivers? Put simply they are rivers that flow in a zig-zag shape across the landscape. In other words, they curve in a back and forth manner.

On the mountain landscape, it is less likely for the rivers to curve back and forth because of the high elevation in the landform; which makes the back and forth shape pattern impossible, only a straight trajectory is possible.
