Hey there!

4x = 5x - 12

5x - 12 = 4x

ADD 4x to BOTH SIDES

5x - 12 + 4x = 4x + 4x

SIMPLIFY IT!
x - 12 = 0

ADD 12 to BOTH SIDES

x - 12 + 12 = 0 + 12

CANCEL out: -12 + 12 because it gives you 0.

KEEP: 0 + 12 because it gives you the value of the x-value.

NEW EQUATION: x = 0 + 12

SIMPLIFY IT!

x = 12

Therefore, your answer is: x = 12

Good luck on your assignment and enjoy your day!
