Solve for x 2x-8<4. 2x−8<4 2 x - 8 < 4. Move all terms not containing x x to the right side of the inequality. Since −8 - 8 does not contain the variable to solve for, move it to the right side of the inequality by adding 8 8 to both sides. 2x<8+4 2 ⁢ x < 8 + 4.
