Answer:

Paul Krebaum was an Engineer who was involved in various experiments and occasionally had to deal with Sulphuric compounds which led to the release of sulphur.

Sulphur has an unpleasant smell and he didn’t like that. He later found out through a book that Hydrogen peroxide was a compound which oxidized Sulphur.This also reduced the smell and noticed our nose are more sensitive to sulphur in a high oxidation state than the lower state.
