y = 2x - 1...slope here is 2 and y int is -1

2y - 4x = 7
2y = 4x + 7
y = (4/2)x + 7/2
y = 2x + 7/2...slope here is 2 and y int is 7/2

When the slopes of the lines are the same, and the y intercepts different...this means they are parallel lines
