7/8 is greater than 5/8, as the numerator changes and the denominator doesn't 7, being the higher number, is two greater than 5. For example in a row of 8 jars, in the 7/8 count 7 of the 8 jars are full, where as in the 5/8 count only 5 have been filled; proving my recently stated answer.
