A mistake first happens in Step #1. PEMDAS is not followed correctly.

(PEMDAS = parentheses, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction)

When solving 8÷2+(3x3-2), you first move left to write and solve the problems working through the correct order of operations.  

Correct Steps:

1)  8÷2 + (3x3-2)

2) 4 + (9-2)

3) 4 + 7

4) 4+7 = 11
