simplify first like so, by adding like terms and distributing the 2 through the 2x+1
4x+3=4x+2+1
simplify again
4x+3=4x+3
subtract 3 from both sides
4x=4x
divide 4 from both sides
x=x
therefore, no matter what x is, both sides will always equal each other
Thus x has an infinite set of solutions
