Many cultures over the course of history have played their role in science and scientific progress. For example, the process of fermentation used to produce wine and other alcoholic drinks was one scientific development carried out. Other cultures such as the Aztecs and Egyptians were very involved with knowledge of the skies, which later led to the branch of astronomy. They studied the patterns of the sky and used them to understand weather and other phenomena, much like astronomers today.
