The sum of two numbers is 67. the smaller number is 3 less than the larger number. what are the two numbers?

Let the larger number be x
The smaller number would be x-3 

(x-3)+x=67 
2x-3=67 
2x=67-3 
2x=64 
x=64/2 
x=32 

Therefore the larger number is 32 and the smaller is (32)-3= 29
