In japanese does the adjective come before the noun

It goes noun adjective.


EX: 猫は太っ= Neko wa futo~tsu= The cat is fat

I've lived in Japan for three years, and I've taken advanced Japanese I and ll classes. So, in a sentence, the adjective comes before the noun.

Example:  Watashi wa ao neko skidesu.
 
Translation: I like blue cats.

As you can see, the color of cat comes before the actual cat itself.
