Amount of debt owes by city = 1.2 million dollars = $1,200,000

Population of the city = 48,000

Note : To find for one person always do the division.

So to find the debt per person, divide the total debt by the total population of the city

Debt per person = $1,200,000 divided by 48,000

Debt per person = $1,200,000 ÷ 48,000

= $25

Answer : Debt per person is $25
