36 = 6×6 or 4×9 or 2×18 or 1×36

6×6 does not work because 6 + 6 + 6 + 6 = 24

4×9 does not work because 4 + 4 + 9 + 9= 26

2×18 works because 2 + 2 + 18 + 18 = 40

No need to check other option

Therefore sides of rectangle is 2" and 18"
